Multi-strand post-tensioning anchor heads on a bridge deck

Post-Tensioning Anchor Heads

Post-tensioning anchorage systems are critical components that safely transfer prestressing force from strands into the reinforced concrete structure. After stressing, strand force is transmitted to the structure through the anchor head and wedge sets.

ASZ Grup supplies active anchorages (stressing end), passive anchorages (fixed end) and multi-strand heads (1–55 strands). We offer ETA-certified solutions compatible with bonded and unbonded systems.

Anchorage Types

Active Anchorage

The anchor head at the stressing end. Strands are tensioned with a hydraulic jack and locked with wedge sets. It connects directly to field stressing equipment.

Passive Anchorage

The anchor head at the fixed end of the tendon. Stressing is performed from the active anchorage at the opposite end.

  • Anchor head options for 1–55 strands
  • High-strength cast steel body
  • CNC machining for precise tolerances
  • Compatibility with ETA-certified systems

Frequently Asked Questions

How is anchorage capacity selected?

Capacity is determined by strand count, diameter and design prestress force. The appropriate anchor type is recommended based on the tendon layout in your project documents.

Can anchor heads be replaced?

In some systems, anchor replacement is possible for maintenance scenarios. Evaluation depends on system type and project-specific requirements.
